Just who is Hermann/Coburg? Since 1913 the Hermann family has been producing Hermann Teddy Bears. To mark and identify them, Max Hermann developed the famous logo - the green triangle and it's centerpiece "the bear with the running dog". When Germany was split into East and West, the Hermanns left for the Allied Territory. A new factory was built and since 1995, Ulla and Martin Hermann are the proud owners of the Hermann Bear Company.

Roehler has been making find porcelain for children, collectors and the young at heart since 1872. The operation remained in the family through the Great War, the Depression as well as World War II. But, in 1945 Thuringia fell to the Soviet Allied Forces. This resulted in the factory being expropriated and nationalized. After the reunification in 1990 the family again proudly returned to porcelain manufacturing resuming operation as the Roehler Collection. They now use modern technology while also producing historic wares using molds from the late 1800s, early 1900s.
